Casey Millard
February 28, 2022
Casey Robert Millard “Smiley”, passed away at home on February 28, 2022.
Casey was known for his smile, generosity, and love for his family and friends. He was a giver and wanted everyone to have everything. He leaves a huge emptiness in the hearts of all who loved him.
Casey loved spending time with his family, especially his nephew King, and his nieces Amaya, Jade, Stella, and Kaylonna, he treated them as his own. Casey was truly a beautiful person inside and out and you could feel his energy.
Casey was a line cook for the Tavern. His passion for food was one of the many ways he expressed himself and showed his love for family and friends. Food always brought everyone closer, whether he cooked or they dined out together.
He will be deeply missed by his mother’s Regina and Jennie Starr, grandmother Rhonda, aunts Jeri and Melinda, uncle Joey, siblings Jared (Christina), Samantha, Kylie (Zavier), and Devontae (Elizabeth), and cousins Kayla, Xavier (Kayla), Elexa (Romeo), Cody, Dillon, Jade, Michael, David, Joey, Caleb, and Gage. Casey also leaves behind his fiancé Tiffany Millard.
Casey was preceded in death by his father Von Millard, brother Jose, grandparents Linda Baker & Richard Starr, uncle Jason, and godfather Scott Wheeler.
Casey will be greatly missed. He brought such a light to all of us that dimmed a little the day he left us, but through him we will shine on.
In honor of Casey during the visitation we will all wear our memorial shirts. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, March 7th also at the funeral home.
