Dianne Delores Taylor, age 68, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022.

Dianne was born December 17, 1953 in Spring Hill, Louisiana to Willie Dale Henderson and Bertha Warren Brown Henderson. She lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota prior to moving to Des Moines, where she has been a resident since 1998. She was employed as a social worker, lastly for Blackstone. While living in Minneapolis, she was a faithful member of True Apostolic Assembly Church. After moving to Des Moines, she became affiliated with Church of God and Christ. She enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and fishing in her free time. She loved playing dominoes and cards, and was a master at Spades.

Above all else, family was Dianne’s primary focus and greatest joy. She adored all her grandchildren; her whole family was her pride and joy. Dianne was a wonderful cook and will be remembered especially for her chicken dressing, collard greens, and smoked ham hocks. She loved cooking for family, and especially loved family gatherings at the holidays. She was the family matriarch and the glue that held everyone together. She was a loving, generous person who was always helping the less fortunate, even at her own expense. Her door was always open.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen “Steve” Henry Taylor; sons, Duvalmetrise Brown, Richard Brown; daughters, Lazondra Brown, Franreca Brown, Karolpreka Wilson, Joshzetta (Craig) Flagg, Kashandra Wilson; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Walter Brown, Thomas E. Brown, Thomas W. Brown, Larry (Royalynn) White; sister, Denise Brown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Dianne was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Warren Brown; father, Willie Dale Henderson; brother, Robert Wayne Brown; granddaughter, Darchene’ Michelle Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Precious Shanaydria Hamer.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, also at Hamilton’s. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery after the service.
