Dianne Delores Taylor, age 68, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Dianne was born December 17, 1953 in Spring Hill, Louisiana to Willie Dale Henderson and Bertha Warren Brown Henderson. She lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota prior to moving to Des Moines, where she has been a resident since 1998. She was employed as a social worker, lastly for Blackstone. While living in Minneapolis, she was a faithful member of True Apostolic Assembly Church. After moving to Des Moines, she became affiliated with Church of God and Christ. She enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and fishing in her free time. She loved playing dominoes and cards, and was a master at Spades.
Above all else, family was Dianne’s primary focus and greatest joy. She adored all her grandchildren; her whole family was her pride and joy. Dianne was a wonderful cook and will be remembered especially for her chicken dressing, collard greens, and smoked ham hocks. She loved cooking for family, and especially loved family gatherings at the holidays. She was the family matriarch and the glue that held everyone together. She is survived by her husband, Stephen “Steve” Henry Taylor; sons, Duvalmetrise Brown, Richard Brown; daughters, Lazondra Brown, Franreca Brown, Karolpreka Wilson, Joshzetta (Craig) Flagg, Kashandra Wilson; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Walter Brown, Thomas E. Brown, Thomas W. Aunt Dianne was truly one of kind. Her personality, insight and wit was highly developed and very keen. She had a unique ability of seeing into a person and giving them the life advice that applied specifically to their circumstances. She loved very deeply and did not allow any disrespect from man or woman and she demanded her respect from all and also gave it to those who deserved it. Aunt Dianne helped me numerous times and offered loving advice at some of my lowest times in my life experiences. I went to her often to ask her advice about many life matters and her knowledge and wisdom would amaze me every time. She was a perfect blend of my Mom "Little Baby" and my aunt "Big Baby". I have yet to encounter a personality such as hers. Truly she was an amazing woman and will be missed. My condolences go out to all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as all of her siblings. I LOVE YOU AUNT DIANNE AND MAY GOD GIVE YOU PEACE❤
