Marlene Pearl Johnson, age 85, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Mill Pond in Ankeny, Iowa.

Marlene was born April 17, 1936 in Rodman, Iowa to Henry and Belva (Perkins) Schmidt. She retired as an administrative assistant from Sunrise Dairy. Marlene’s greatest joy was her family and she cherished every moment with them.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Bill Gillette) Johnson, Jackie (Mike) Reagan, and Kathy Pearson; grandchildren, Joe Reagan (Chelsea), Stephanie (Tyler) Perry, Riley and Levi; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Christian, and Colton; brothers, Keith (Nellie) Schmidt and James Schmidt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Belva Schmidt; husband, Jim Johnson; son-in-law, Troy Pearson; and brother, Lyle (Florence) Schmidt.

According to Marlene’s wishes, cremation will occur and there will be no formal services held at this time. A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or contributions, honor Marlene by doing as she did - hold your family close, cherish them and devote yourself to them. It would also be appreciated if you wanted to send a donation to a charity of your choice in Marlene’s name.
