Three days after graduation, Nancy went to work for the Keokuk Steel Casting Co. In 1955, she married William Schowalter, and they were blessed with three children David, Daniel and Jeanne. William’s job required moves that took them to Danville, Illinois, and Des Moines, Iowa. Nancy was employed at Work Force Development and retired in 1997.
Nancy was especially thankful for her daily walk with the Lord, her loving, caring family, socializing with faithful friends, and helpful neighbors. She especially looked forward to getting together with her family and Sundays evening suppers.
Nancy is survived by her children, David (Pam), Daniel, Jeanne (Mark) Kutsch; five grandchildren, Sarah and Anne Kutsch, Jaime Norton, Zachary and Justin (Julie) Schowalter; four great-grandchildren, Sadee, Masen, Ben, and Avery; and her cousins.

I enjoyed spending time with Nancy & visiting with her on the phone, for several years. At Christmas time one year she invited me to share a wonderful dinner with her. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful beaded Christmas ornaments she & her mother had made. She was a sweet Christian lady & my life was blessed for having known her. My prayers for her family.

So very sorry to hear about about Nancy passing. She was such a sweet and gentle person. I had a nice long phone visit with her when I lost my husband, Don and I always heard from her at Christmas. I know she will be missed so much by her family and friends.
