Garnet Davis, 63, passed away October 23, 2009 at the Taylor House Hospice.
Garnet was born January 27, 1946 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of James and Venetta (Yoder) Kepler. Garnet worked for Erickson Display Incorporated and recently retired from Owens and Minor Distribution. Garnet was a past President of I.U.E. Local 129.
Garnet is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter Tina Flatt; sons, Anthony (Jerusha) Davis and Adam (Beth) Davis; two sisters, Marlene Grove and Sandy Snyder, one brother, Jim (Mary) Kepler; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. A memorial has been established and contributions may be made at the funeral home.

I was General Manager at Owens and Minor. I got to know Garnett well while we worked together. I have many fond memories of working with her. She did a great job and took pride in what she did. On the personal side she was always there to help someone, always there for a company function and always interesting to talk with. She will be missed.

MY CHILDHOOD IS FULL OF MEMOIRS WITH GARNET,HELPING ME BUILD TREEHOUSES,KOOLAIDE STANDS AND EXPLORING THE BACKWOODS.
ADOLESTANTS CAME AND GARNET TAUGHT ME HOW TO FIX MY HAIR AND APPLY MY MAKEUP.
WE GREW UP TOGETHER AND WENT OUT SEPERATE WAYS INTO ADULTHOOD.BUT NO MATTER WHAT CAME AND WENT THROUGH THE YEARS.I ALWAYS KNEW GARNET WAS THERE.I WILL MISS HER SO VERY MUCH.

I am blessed to have known Garnet and to have had her in my life. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed by all. I have many wonderful memories of the few years we had together. She was like a mother to me while I lived out in Iowa and I will never forget that.
It broke my heart to hear that she passed away, but it comforts me to know she is no longer in pain and is no longer suffering. While here on earth, she was everyone's angel. She is now an angel up in heaven watching over us all.
My deepest sympathy to Roger and all the family she leaves behind.
Rest in peace Aunt Garnet and know you were LOVED by all.

I worked with Garnet years ago at Erickson Displays. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing.
