Janice Klitzke

Janice Rae Klitzke, age 65, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.

Janice was born July 16, 1956 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Alfred and Joyce (Collins) Espey. She was recently employed at Amazon for the past year and loved her work and her coworkers. Janice loved her three beloved dogs, her “rotties”, Faith, Thor, and Molly. She also enjoyed crocheting, and playing the video game RuneScape.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Klitzke; sons, Steven VanWinkle and Ricky VanWinkle; step-daughters, Kerri Klitzke and Ashley Klitzke; grandchildren, Samantha, Samara, Somer, Emilie, Gage, Xander, Tana, Taylor, Autumn, Bobbie, and Liam; great-granddaughter, Ella; siblings, Albert Espey, Ralph Espey, Janet Price, and Susan Espey; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Joyce Collins; and her sister, Ruth Wessel.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. She will be interred at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines after the services. For those to wish to attend the service virtually, there will be a link below shortly.
