George Sadek

George Ernest Sadek, 93, passed away Sunday January 6, 2022 in Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 28, 1928 to Carl and Willamina Sadek in the German province of East Prussia.

George and his wife, Elly, moved to Des Moines in 1956. George worked for Penn Dixie Cement Company for many years. He enjoyed gardening post retirement as well as dancing with his friends at the Polka Club of Iowa.

George is survived by his daughter, Irene Khan; grandchildren, Nicholas (Norma) Khan and Natasha (Bradley) Westbrook; great-grandchildren, Aidan Khan, Ethan Khan, and Amelia Westbrook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elly.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
