Rosalie Conley, 98, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Fleur Heights in Des Moines.
Rosalie was born on July 15, 1923 in Rose Hill, Iowa and was raised in Des Moines. She graduated from North High School in 1942 where she was voted “Miss Personality” of her senior class. Rosalie married Robert Conley in 1947 at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines and moved to Baltimore while Bob served in the Navy during WWII, eventually returning to Des Moines to make their home on Forest Avenue. Rosalie was a devoted mother of five children, two of whom were special needs, caring for them well into adulthood. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a mother, grandmother, neighbor, friend, and through volunteering, especially with Goodwill Industries.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr.; daughter, Katy Pepper; and son, Dennis. She is survived by daughters, Mary Ann (John) Greiner and Margaret Conley of Des Moines, Sue Conley of Chicago; and son, Robert Jr. of Des Moines; as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A private service for family will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rosalie’s name to Goodwill.

I SO love your Mom, what a special human she was. Im shocked to see that Katey proceeded her in death. My life was blessed to have her in it. Mary Ann, Id love to visit with you again and catch up. God bless you all! Rosalie is now your angel! I absolutely loved doing her hair for many years, a gift to me.

I had known your Mom for over 34 years. She was a joy and a delight. I can see why she was voted Miss Personality. She was a great lady and dedicated her life to both Margaret and Robert. She will be missed.
