Janice Christine Spitzer

Janice Spitzer, age 65, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. She was born the daughter of Robert and Pauline Powers on April 6, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. Janice was a beautiful person inside and out with a huge heart. In her free time, she enjoyed bicycling, reading books, and loving on her pet birds. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Dennis Spitzer; sons, Ernie (Rachael) Hoopes, Eric (Misty) Hoopes, and Eldon (Abby) Hoopes; step-children, Holly (Russ) Adams, Amanda Macleod, and Debby (Matt) Howard; many beloved grandchildren; mother, Pauline Powers; and brothers, Steven (Charlotte) Powers and Russell (Nancy) Powers.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Robert Powers.
