Ernest Moore

Ernest “Dale” Moore passed away at Courtyard Estates on January 27, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born in Lebanon, MO to Sylvia and Ernie Moore. He grew up in the Des Moines area and attended Lincoln High School. After high school Dale proudly served in the United States Army. Following his discharge, he started a family and had two sons, Randy and Kenny. He worked in manufacturing and then truck driving. Dale loved to tinker with anything that had a motor. He loved cats, and he had a revolving cat named “Penny” which was actually twenty of the local neighborhood cats that he always fed.

He is survived by his sons, Randy Moore and Kenny (Nina) Moore; grandchildren, Anna, Kevin, and Maya Moore; brother, Delmore (Pat) Moore; stepsister, Anita Richards; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sister Peggy Thomas; stepdad, Don Richards; and step brother Jeff Richards.

There will be no services at this time, burial will take place with military honors at Iowa Veterans Cemetery later this spring.
