Eddie Gayden was born on May 13, 1933 to the late Bernard and Rosie Gayden in Amite County, MS. He was the fourth of eleven children. At an early age, he united with Tangipahoa Baptist Church in Amite County, MS. He education began at Pleasant Valley School.

Eddie united in matrimony with Elizabeth “Liz” Franklin. To this union three children were born, Eddie Jr., Erika, and Edward.

Eddie was a warm, genuine, and humorous individual who loved being around his family while sharing stories about adventures throughout his life. He was an excellent provider and was known to work two jobs to make sure that the needs of his family were met.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; three brothers, A.C., William, and Charlie; and four sisters, Hazel, Winnie, Annie, and Geneva.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Eddie Jr. (Barbara), Erika, and Edward; nine grandchildren, Demitrius, Brooklyn, Brian, Brandon, Vance, Jacob, Faith, Angel, and Elizabeth; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosemary, Margie, and Norma; one sister-in-law, Myrtle; two brothers-in-law, Alvin and Tommie; special individuals, Jamal, Teesha, Cheerun, and AJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
