Becky Jo King
January 25, 2022
Becky King, age 71, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, she is now somewhere over the rainbow resting peacefully. She was born the daughter of Kenneth Eugene and Evelyn Pauline (Wamsher) Mason on August 1, 1950 in Des Moines.
Becky was one of a kind! She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was full of life and very quick witted! She was very much the life of the party. She liked to dance and enjoyed gospel music. Becky graduated from East High School in 1968. She was united in marriage to Jim Coles in November of 1968 in Des Moines. There were two children to this union, Shelley and Jimmy. The couple later divorced. In March of 1990, she was united in marriage to Gary King in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Becky was a homemaker for her family until her children were older. She then went to work for her dear friend, Ron Shivers, at DeeZee Manufacturing in Des Moines as a Bookkeeper. She worked there on and off for over 30 years. She also worked for Meredith Publishing Company. Later in life, she cleaned houses and office spaces with Shelley for many years.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, having her daily fountain soda, going out for Cavetelli at Helen and Pat’s. She also loved a good margarita with chips and salsa at Raul’s. She loved her trips to the grocery store with her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows but most of all, Becky loved to spend time with her family and doing crafts with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gary King; two children, Shelley Noble (Kevin O’Neal, spouse), and Jimmy (Beth) Coles; step-son, Michael King; 8 grandchildren, Zach (Katie) Allen, Nico (Kenzie) Allen, Jake Allen (Sami, spouse), Zoey Noble (Daniel, spouse), Sam Noble, Toby Coles, Michael King and Heather King; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Polly (Dennis) Bolich; brothers, Bob Mason, and Tom (Linda) Mason; long time best friend, Shirley Flactiff; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in- law, Juanita King; sister, Sue Mason and brothers, Gary Mason and Kenny Mason.
Celebration of Life will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 pm, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at American Legion Hispanic Post 731, 1511 South Union Street in Des Moines.

I met Becky about 27 years ago, we worked at Neo Data. She was a straight shooter never beat around the bush, she told it like it is. I respected her for that. I can't tell you how many times we would sit and just talk about life and how short it truly is, she always knew to enjoy life while you can because you never know what tomorrow has in store for any of us. Becky was full of life and she helped me through some of my darkest days. She knew things about life I never considered and I thanked her for listening and her understanding. She will be missed more than I can say. I know she was a loving mother and Grand Mother. She loved her family more than anything and I know she is looking down watching them all. I am honored to have met her. Becky was a friend of mine. God Bless!

Was introduced to your mom by Judy, and whenever we would visit with her they always and I mean always had the best time. The stories were so good it was hard to believe Judy was actually in charge of you! You and Judy also had big fun! Your mom always made me feel like family
