Joyce Maskrey

Joyce Eloise Maskrey, 77, died Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home. She was born April 11, 1944 to Earl and Bernice (Taylor) Wagner in Des Moines. She grew up in the Monroe area and graduated from Monroe High School.

Joyce earned her Bachelor’s from Drake University, with a major in education. Joyce was a business owner for many years. She owned and operated R&J Trucking with her late ex-husband in the 1980s. She also owned and operated The Tanning Salon in the Des Moines area for over 20 years. Later in life, she also worked as a real estate agent for Iowa Realty and Remax. Joyce enjoyed going to various antique shops, flea markets, and thrift stores to find new treasures. Joyce also was an avid animal lover and cared deeply for her dachshunds.

Joyce is survived by her children, Chris Fletcher, Chad Maskrey, and Natalie Keeney; four grandchildren, and her Taylor cousins as she referred to them as the “Taylor Clan”.

She was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, Richard Maskrey.
