Ruth Maxine O’Donnell, 92, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on January 18th, 2022 at MercyOne Johnston Hospice. Ruth was welcomed into this world June 30th, 1929 on a farm in South English, Iowa to Menzo Charles Moore and Inez Margaret Mott. Ruth lived in Ankeny, Iowa since 1963.

Ruth worked at Look Magazine. Later on, Look Magazine became Budget Marketing where Ruth moved into a bookkeeping and accounting position. She retired from Budget Marketing at the age of 68. Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ankeny, Iowa. She was also a Noble Grand of the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies. Ruth enjoyed spending her time working on puzzles. During the nicer days, Ruth was found working in her flower garden. She was a Campfire and a Bluebird leader. Ruth enjoyed attending all of her sons’ sporting events.

Ruth Maxine O’Donnell is survived by her children, Connie (Jim) Luffman, Lois (Steve) Eaton, Gary Sellers, Richard (Terri) Sellers, and Bonnie (Jeffrey) Payne; sister, Doris Wright; brother, Jim (Jo) Moore; daughter-in-law, Kim Sellers; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; 5 step-children; numerous step-grandchildren; and a host of other families and beloved friends.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Sellers; second husband, Francis Patrick O’Donnell; parents, Menzo Charles Moore and Inez Margaret Mott; infant son, Francis Lynn Sellers; son, Ronald Sellers; and brother, C. G. Moore.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
