Helen Post

Helen Esther Post, 74, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at Taylor House Hospice from Parkinson’s Disease. Helen was born on October 16, 1935 to Charles and Kathryn Mathews in Iowa City.

Esther graduated from East High School in 1953 and lived in New Braunfels, Texas from 1980 to 2009. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Helen is survived by her children, Doug Prock, Debbie (Scott) Heston, Patrick (Linda) Post, and Tracie (Don) Barnes; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Darrell (Karen) Mathews; and sisters, Eleanor (Leroy) Waddle and Margaret (John) Hicks.

She was preceded in death by husband, Melvin Post; children, Kevin Prock and Jeffrey Post; and brother, Henry Mathews.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Heartland Christian Fellowship, 4655 NE 3rd Street, with visitation one hour prior to service. A private family burial will occur on Monday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
