David Dean Garner

David Dean Garner, 66, passed away on January 16, 2022. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA. A private burial will take place at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

David was born March 20, 1955 in Des Moines, IA to Anita (Koder) and Byron Garner. He graduated from De Soto High School in 1973 and served in the U.S. Army for 4 years during Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, David worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk for 31 years.

David had a great love for his family and will be greatly missed by his children, Steven (Tabitha) Garner of West Des Moines, Jason (Becky) Garner of Clive and Ashley (Sam) Bryant of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Jensen, Vincent, Brooklyn, Henry and Bennett; his siblings, Eric (Sheila) Garner of Booneville and Connie (Fred) Richards of Melcher-Dallas; and his significant other, Violet Garrison of Ankeny.

David was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances Thompson.
