Donna Marie Lee

Donna Lee, age 78, passed away at Pine Acres Health Center on January 11, 2022. She was born in Des Moines on July 14, 1943, the daughter of Gene and Gladys Gilbert.

Donna was a longtime member of Elkhart Christian Church where she was baptized in 1955.

Donna loved spending time with her children and listening to music. She was also an avid fan of baseball and the New York Yankees.

Donna is survived by her children, Kurt Lee and Denise (Jim) Holmes; grandchildren: Ashley (Aaron) Benson, Stephanie (Jimmie) Shields, and Heather (Dustin Thurman) Holmes; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Jan) Gilbert; and a host of other loving family and friends.

A small gathering of family and close friends will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m., with a time of sharing at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Elkhart Christian Church, 252 NW Washington Ave. in Elkhart, with burial to follow at Elkhart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Elkhart Christian Church in loving memory of Donna.
