Gordon Brown

Gordon Brown, 88, passed away on January 12, 2022, at Prairie Hills Memory Care. He was born on October 13, 1933 to Chase and Ermil Brown.

Gordon worked as a sheet metal worker for Waldinger Corporation, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed sailing his boat on Lake Rathbun, riding his Harley Davidson, traveling the US in his trailer, and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; children, Linda, Sue, Cheryl and Curt; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his son, Don; daughter-in-law, Kellie; grandson, Nick; and sister, Juanita.

Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Private graveside services will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Carol and Family,

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your wonderful husband Gordon who will be so missed. We just recently saw a Sunday Des Moines Register notice and wanted to get in touch with you. I remember his fun sense of humor and devotion to family. You were his constant caretaker Carol with such devotion. We know you will cherish the loving memories of the times you all shared and may the love of family and friends help you through the days ahead. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Miss you Carol!
