Greta Simon

Greta Simon, 92, passed away January 10, 2022 at Methodist Medical Center.

Greta was born October 9, 1929 on a farm in Gravity, Iowa. Greta was raised by Reverend William and Reverend Mable Marie Biggerstaff of the Free Methodist Church of Ruthven Iowa along with seven siblings.

Greta worked for insurance companies in Iowa and Arizona, as well as providing in home care for children and the elderly. She also worked in the deli at Dahls for many years. Greta enjoyed to stay busy and was always working two jobs. She lived in Scottsdale, Arizona for approximate two decades before returning to Iowa to be closer to family. Greta was an avid reader. She also donated time and money to help those less fortunate.

Greta is survived by her siblings, Mildred Brown of Virginia, Hazel Reusch of Kansas City, Don Biggerstaff of Colorado, and Ron Biggerstaff of Florida; granddaughters, Susan (Ray) Robinson of Cylinder and Katina (Jeremy) Patchin of Urbandale; great-grandchildren, Shaina Arends of Carlisle, Karli Dellaca of Spirit Lake, Kailin Dellaca of Emmetsberg, Brody and Braeden Bennett of Urbandale; and great great-granddaughter, Madison Mammen.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Milton Simon; sons, Dennis William Simon and David Eugene Simon; great-granddaughters, Hailey Alexandra and Autumn Lynn.

Greta selflessly donated her body to science and was also able to donate her tissues. Private services will be held at a later date.
