Robert "Bob" Storm
January 10, 2022
Robert "Bob" Storm passed away peacefully in his home on January, 10th, 2022. He was born to Charles and Collen Storm on May 24th, 1954 in Knoxville, Iowa. Bob was raised in Des Moines, Iowa by his parents and was the 2nd oldest of seven children.
Bob's younger years were spent largely with his 5 brothers and sister, extended family and friends. It was during his youth that he developed a lifelong love of motorcycles and Hot Rods; passions that continued throughout his life.
Bob built his life in Des Moines, Iowa, marrying Diana Rice on May 2nd, 1971. He and Diana enjoyed 33 years of marriage, raising their 3 children together and teaching them essential life lessons along the way. Bob's primary focus was always on his family, children and grandchildren who all gave him great love and pride throughout his lifetime.
Bob was always a hard-working, loyal employee. His employers recognized and valued him for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing quality work throughout the years. Most notably, he was employed by AMF for 12 years, Skold for 10 years prior to retiring from the Local 177 after 12 years of service to his union/trade. Even in his retirement, Bob felt the need to work and be productive. He spent the last 10 years working as a bartender at Charley's Southtown Tap where he could often be found doing the "Storm Shuffle" in his socks and sandals. Bob enjoyed his time working at Charley's and if you knew Bob was bartending, the options were a beer or a shot. Mix drinks could only have two ingredients and ice was one.
Bob was very close to his family, but also was a member of the "Charley's Bar" family where he will be deeply missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Bob's smile, no nonsense personality, solid values and infectious spirit made him easily loved by many and he will not be forgotten. Although his time came to an end much too soon, his spirit is inevitably riding off on his Harley, proud of the life he lived and enjoying the view.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Collen Storm; brothers, Bill and Jeff Storm; and his beloved daughter, Misty Stuart, losses he grieved deeply but bravely. Bob is survived by his children, Jacki Storm and Robert "Bobby" Storm; his grandchildren, Alec and Autumn Storm, James Jr. and Dalton; one great-grandchild, Wilson Storm; his siblings, Charley, Dale and Mike Storm and Kathy Hill as well as his partner, Tonya Snyder.
The family will greet friends Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bob's family.
Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Diane, Jackie, Bobby and family:
It seems strange to say but that was a beautifully written obituary. I didn't see Bob much later in life, but when I was younger, I remember him dating Diane and then, as a teenager, babysitting for their kids. I also remember how handsome I thought he was. He will surely be missed by all who loved him.

So sorry for your loss. Bob Storm was always good to me. I'll never forget the rides to and hanging around in Humbolt. He pushed my sportster to get me started more then once. He truly was a good friend and a genuine stand up guy. Fly high brother...till we meet again.
