Bonnie Elizabeth Carico, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2021 at her home in Urbandale.
Bonnie was born August 4, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Bernice (Sondag) Adams. Family meant everything to Bonnie and she devoted herself to caring for her children and grandchildren, helping to raise both generation with unconditional love and support.
Bonnie was an entrepreneur, owning Sun City Auto, that was located at the corner of East Broadway and Cornell, and managing a flea market in the 1980s. She was a talented cook and baker, who loved to share that activity with her grandchildren. She was known for her bread pudding, a recipe that was passed down to her from her mother. In her free time, Bonnie also enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Poore (Rick), Tina Gering (Jerry), Cathy Green, and Sheri Phipps (Dan); grandchildren, Brandi, Bradly, Bryce, Amanda, Joe, Victoria, Veronica, Jerri Jean, Mary, Andrea, Misty, and Danny; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, David Hoss Green; grandson, Brandon Poore; and great-granddaughter, Mandi Hamm.
There will be a private family graveside service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Bonnie.

Celebration of life for Bonnie Carico to be held at the Carlisle Christian Church, 305 Market St., Carlisle, Iowa, on January 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
Bonnie Elizabeth Carico passed away December 31, 2021 in her Urbandale, Iowa home at the age of 79.
Bonnie was born August 4, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Bernice Adams.
Bonnie was a very compassionate person and helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Every year she looked forward to her family reunions. She also enjoyed attending the Carlisle Christian Church with her family and participated in church activities. She loved the small town festivities she got to enjoy with her family.
Bonnie invested in reality, owning several houses. She also helped manage her former husband's (Bill Sloan) car lot Sun City Auto.
She was very proud of the commercial she was in for Donut Land in her younger days.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters Cathy Green, Tina Gering (Jerry), Sheri Phipps (Dan), and Pam Poore, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Waiting in heaven for her to join them was her son David Green, grandson Brandon Poore, and great granddaughter Mandi Hamm.
Bonnie will be missed by all who knew her.
