Marilyn Kay Brickman, 81, passed away on January 2, 2022, at EveryStep Hospice.

Marilyn was born September 22, 1940, in Des Moines to Edwin and Marcella (Wick) Rogers. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Marilyn met the love of her life, Ernie Brickman, at 14, the couple married in 1958. They were inseparable until Ernie died, way too young, at the age of 52. Marilyn loved her family and always put them first. She liked fishing and loved camping in their younger years. Marilyn enjoyed playing board games but cribbage was her favorite and she loved Yahtzee.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Teresa Crouse, Ernie (Lora Hall) Brickman, Kenny (Lorie Sanford) Brickman, and Kathryn (John) Yori; grandchildren, Corey, Sharee, Valerie, Adam, Ernie, and Jacob; six great-grandchildren and one on the way in June; sister, Pam; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ed Rogers; and her beloved husband, Ernie Brickman.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
