On December 31, 2021, Karole LaVonne Griffin passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, surrounded by her loved ones. Karole fought a long hard battle with cancer. She was 73 years old.

A lifelong Iowan native, Karole was well-loved. She was the mother of three children Ronnie Griffin, Melissa Laurie, and Brent Griffin. Despite her large family Karole always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family. She and her husband Ronald worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Karole was predeceased by her son Ronnie Griffin, her sister Becky Cummins, and her parents Thurman and LaVonne Simpson. She is survived by her surviving husband Ronald Griffin, two children Brent Griffin and Melissa Laurie, 3 grandchildren Jessica Laurie, Jennifer Laurie, and Jayme Laurie, and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, her brothers Skip Simpson and Donald Bryant.
