Randy Burgett

Randy Ray Burgett, age 57, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Randy was born June 4, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Hazel (Plummer) Burgett. He was fun-loving and a jokester at times, but he had a huge heart and would help anyone in a heartbeat if they needed it. Randy was caring and always had a huge smile on his face whenever you saw him and he seemed to always be laughing and bringing joy to those around him. He was a hard worker and will always be loved by his parents, wife, siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, countless cousins, friends, and many others. He will be missed by so many but will never be forgotten and will always hold a special place in the hearts of those that loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Bob and Hazel Burgett; wife, Holly Burgett; daughter, Lisa Groen; sons, Randy Burgett, Jr. and Jeremiah Burgett; brother, Rocky Burgett (Joann); sisters, Robin Houghton (Larry Dale) and Regina Mealey (Brent); grandson, Paxton Burgett; granddaughters, Brooklynn Brown and Gracelynn Groen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Lee Town Assembly Church, 2720 State Avenue, Des Moines with burial at Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to his wife, Holly, in loving memory of Randy.
