Delores Brandt

Dee Brandt, 83, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Florida. Dee was born April 6, 1926 in Melcher, Iowa.

She has lived in Lakeland, Florida for the last 11 years. Before moving to Florida, Dee lived in Des Moines, Denver and Kansas City. She worked for Anderson Erickson Dairy for many years and retired from Aspen Airways. Dee attended Christ the King Episcopal Church. She loved her pastor with his deep infilling of the Holy Spirit and also her Thursday morning ladies' Bible study group. They all became "family" to her and a very important part of her life. One relationship, however, overshadowed these earthly communions; it was her very deep devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ with whom she has now been joyfully united in her eternal home.

Dee is survived by daughter, Jan McCombe; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Alberta Hartley, Betty Blaine and Joan Hall. She was preceded in death by her two children, Dawn Marie Anderson and Pastor Lyle Arden Anderson; her husband, L. Christian Brandt; and her brother, Robert B. Crawford.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
