Jay W. Knudsen Sr.

Jay Knudsen, Sr., age 80, passed away on December 24, 2021, at Mitchell Village Care Center. He was born in Harlan, Iowa, on July 21, 1941, the son of Marvin and Agnes Knudsen.

Jay was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in Canada.

Jay is survived by his son, Jay (Michele) Knudsen, Jr.; daughter, Tara Hankins; step daughter, Laura Carlstrom; granddaughters, April Fisher, Tonya Knudsen, and Lynn Blake; many great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Nancy (John) Hackley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Marvin; son-in-law, Rich Hankins and great grandson Keagin Adamson.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines from 5-7 p.m.
