Keith Yates

Keith Kevin Yates, age 61, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

Keith was born September 20, 1960 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Charles and Loretta (Gourley) Yates. He was a talented musician and bass guitarist. He enjoyed playing video games and watching movies. Keith worked for Idemia in Des Moines for 10 years. He was also a chef for Cosi Cucina and Latin King, as well as other restaurants.

He is survived by his siblings, Anita (Michael) Bell, Kent Yates (Keith’s twin), Brenda Yates, and Scott (Leann) Yates; 15 nieces and nephews; 24 great-nieces and nephews; 1 great-great-niece; his best friend, Dutch Swackhammer; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Loretta Yates; and his brothers, Lloyd Parkhurst, Eugene Parkhurst, and Richard Parkhurst.

Cremation will occur and there will be no services held at this time.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Keith.
