Judith A. Aldridge
December 10, 2021
Judith A. Aldridge, 65, of Altoona passed away Friday, December 10, 2021. The daughter of Eva and Donald Sams, she was born June 19, 1956.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Carson Aldridge, Jr; 3 children: William Vos of Oregon, Jerald Vos of Missouri, and Sabrina Thomas (Allen) of Des Moines; as well as 2 children she always loved as her own: David Pollock (Michelle) of Ankeny, and Julie Crutcher (Duke) of Des Moines; 2 step-sons; Steve Aldridge (Jessica), and Josh Aldridge; and nine grandchildren; as well as her 2 brothers and 1 sister: Justin and Calvin Sams and Cathy Sheeler, all of Des Moines; and innumerable nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Judy was a loving mother and grandmother and prayed for her family and friends daily. She gave her heart to Jesus in March of 2004 and never looked back. She has ministered alongside her husband for many years, and has been a pillar of her church community. Judy has always possessed a special spirit, which could be felt by everyone she met. She loved her church family more than she could have ever put to words. Judy walked away from this world in the same way she lived: full of grace, strength, and fearlessness. Her last words were, “I’ll be waiting for you”. She knew God’s promises and believed them down to her very soul, right to her last breath. Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Heritage Assembly of God, 5051 NE 5th Street in Des Moines. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 9-11 a.m., with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Altoona Cemetery.

Judy was an amazing lady. God's love radiated through her. When I last seen Judy was at a funeral and she joked with me, while giving me one of her big hugs, saying "We've got to quit meeting this way". She was truly one of a kind and will always hold a special place in everyone's hearts who were fortunate enough to know her.

Judy was a wonderful woman. The love of Jesus always showed through her. Her and Carson would always make you feel welcomed at church. I will miss seeing her at church when I am in town. Our prayers are with the family.
