Marva Maline Baggett, age 65, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Marva was born November 17, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Edward and Betty (McDonald) Frazier. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. She was a member of the (ROTC) Reserve Officers Training Corps. Marva received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a woman of strong faith, who gave service to many churches as a psalmist over her lifetime. She assisted her father-in-law, Pastor Robert Baggett Sr., in his church Apostolic Pentecostal Church. She had a giving heart and her work life reflected that. She held many service oriented jobs, notably in Client Services for the US Housing & Urban Development Department in Chicago, Illinois. While living in Chicago, she also worked for McDonald’s and was recognized by management for winning a state competition that awarded her 5 stock in the company. Marva also held positions with HyVee and the Salvation Army in Des Moines. Marva was known as a hard worker, a noted singer, and played the saxophone in high school. She had a host of hobbies, she loved fashion, enjoyed shopping and socializing. She had exquisite taste for the finer things in life. One of her favorite food genres was Italian. She was an avid reader and loved tending to her plants, but most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, sisters and brothers, and family. She always ended every conversation with,… “I Love You More”

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cynthia Baggett, Robert (Crystal) Baggett III, Cherise Ragland, Chaunessie Baggett, Ryan Baggett, Cassandra Wilson (fiancé, Shey Swenson), and Timothy Vincent; grandchildren, Alexis, Kierra, and Hashim “Silky”; brothers, Marvin (Mary) Allen, Michael Frazier, and Steven (Michelle) Frazier; sister, Elizabeth (Larry) Sharp; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Marva was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Betty Jean Frazier; former spouse, Robert Baggett, Jr.; brother, Timothy Frazier; and sister, Shirley Stanfield.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 20, 2021 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Cremation will follow the services.
