James “Jim” Fisher
July 26,1932 - December 13, 2021
James “Jim” Fisher was a faithful servant of the Lord. He lived his life in witness for Jesus Christ, his wife, and his family. On December 13, 2021, Jim left us to join the Lord, his wife, Maureen “Tudi” and his son, Douglas in Heaven at the age of 89 years old.
Jim was born on July 26, 1932 to Nancy and William Fisher in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1952 Jim met his beautiful bride, Maureen “Tudi” Foshe and they were married on September 26, 1952. They were married for 66 loving years. Together, Jim and Tudi had four children; one daughter, Pamela and three sons, Douglas, William, and Bradley.
Jim had a competitive spirit and enjoyed participating in sports. He played on several Championship Fast Pitch Softball teams. Jim’s softball career was capped off with being inducted into The Softball Hall of Fame. Along with softball Jim enjoyed the outdoors playing tennis, golf, and pitching horseshoes. He took pleasure in volunteering his time with his church and served as a head usher for many years.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Pamela (Robert) Sarlund; sons, William (Robin) Fisher and Bradley (Roxanne) Fisher; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Maureen; and his oldest son, Douglas Fisher.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday February 5, 2022 a.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral, 605 Lyon Street. He was interred at Glendale Cemetery with his wife in December.

Jim you were a wonderful friend. Just this week I told a resident just how much I miss seeing you walking the hallways and our great visits. You will always be special to us and forever missed.

I met Jim (and Tudi) in the late 70's, They were a perfect match. We connected at church, golf;and Jim (and Tudi) were beautiful volunteers at the Iowa State Fair Cooking Contests. Their welcoming smiles were genuine and touched my heart.

I fondly remember the many times playing rebound 21 at the Fishers. Jim was always right in the middle of it throwing elbows and slamming us into the garage door. Those were great times!
Fly high Jim!
