Jill Carla Thornton

Jill Carla Thornton went to heaven to be with Jesus on Monday, December 13, 2021.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Eternity Church, 2000 NW 100th St. in Clive, IA 50325. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens, 7601 Fleur Dr. in Des Moines, IA.

Jill was born to Ron and Jan Woods on May 23, 1967. She married Rick Thornton, the love of her life in 1990 and gave birth to their beautiful daughter Sara Ann in 1994.

Jill loved her family more than anything. Her greatest joy was spending time with them in or around the water. Her love of the sun, the beach, and the waves was tremendous. Jill loved animals, especially her cherished dogs, they were like family to her.

The family is requesting no flowers or gifts. Contributions can be made to an organization dear to Jill’s heart called: The Timothy Initiative at www.ttionline.org

She is surrounded in love by her mother and father, Jan and Ron Woods; her husband, Rick Thornton; and daughter, Sara and her husband Gavin Henriquez; along with many other family members and friends.
