Edie Hobermann passed away December 9, 2021 at Edgewater. Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services and burial will take place at the Carroll City Cemetery, Carroll, IA.

Edie was born to Martin and Anna Magrethe Christensen Andersen, Danish immigrants, at Lytton, IA on May 31st, 1927. She grew up in the Newell, IA area and attended schools there. She was baptized, confirmed, and married to Ed Hobermann on August 31st, 1947, all at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. They resided in Fort Dodge and in Carroll for many years. Mr. Hobermann passed away December, 1983. In 2005 she married Russell W. Rogers who predeceased her.

Edie was employed in administration at Carroll Community Schools and served on the School Board. In 1988 she began working at Orchard View Retirement Community until she retired in 2005. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Auxiliary. She was fond of her Danish heritage, loved animals, and liked to play cards, bicycle, and volunteer.

In 2007 Mrs. Hobermann moved to the Des Moines area after living in Carroll many years where she was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and held many offices. She was a Council member and was active in the Ladies guild. She was currently a member of Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann Spencer; her husband, Larry; two step-daughters, Laurel Rogers Rupprecht (Jeff) of Bethany Beach DE, and Marcia Rogers Hudson of Columbia, MD; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hobermann was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Alice K. Rogers, brother, Harold Hans Anderson, and a very special friend, Vernon A. Bein.
