Betty Norene Elmore

Betty Norene Elmore, 81, passed away November 30, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.
Betty was born May 20, 1940, in Princeton, Missouri to Buren and Pansy (Bain) Booth. She graduated from Princeton High School and attended nurses training and obtained her LPN degree in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Betty worked as a nurse at various hospitals in Des Moines, primarily the Veterans Hospital. She loved flowers and enjoyed camping with her family. Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities. One of her favorite pastimes was attending meetings and events of both the International Tractor Club - Chapter #5 and Central Iowa Tractor Club with her husband Raymond. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond Elmore; children, Kenneth (Linda) Elmore and Lisa Lee; grandchildren, Casey Elmore, Adriana Elmore, Lauren Lee, and Tanner Lee; great-grandpup, Jax; brother, Bill (Donna) Booth; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and her grandson, Jesse Elmore.
The family will greet friends Monday, December 13, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The family respectfully requests that guests wear masks. A private family graveside service will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in loving memory of Betty.

I worked with Betty at Mercy Hospital. She was a very nice, caring person. She was a joy to work with. Im so sorry for your loss. May she Rest In Peace.

Lee and I are so sorry for your family's loss. Betty was such a caring, loving person. She always had a story to tell. She will be missed.
