Wayne Allan Whitham

Wayne Allan Whitham was born September 22, 1941 in Tama County, Iowa to Claudius Russell and Hilda Evelyn Homolar Whitham. He passed away November 30, 2021 at his home in rural Woodburn, Iowa. As a young boy he moved with his family to Clarke County, Iowa where he spent most of his life. Wayne attended country school through 8th grade, then went to Woodburn High School for three years, and graduated from Clarke Community School District in Osceola, Iowa. In 1961 he married Mary Lea Heston. Together they had three children: Deborah Lynn, Daniel Wayne, and James William. Wayne later married Leora Easton McLin. After her passing, he entered into a very special relationship with Edna O’Dell Johnson.

He enjoyed many occupations throughout his life, including farming, welding, carpentry, driving a semi, and repairing agricultural electronics. He mastered just about anything he set out to do and especially enjoyed rebuilding Case tractors and vehicles.

Preceding Wayne in death were his parents Russell and Hilda Whitham, brothers Charles and Robert, and second wife Leora. Survivors include his children Debbie (Jerry) Bremer, Daniel Whitham, and Jim (Renee) Whitham; companion of many years Edna Johnson; siblings Ellen Danner, Ronald (Marlene) Whitham, and Thomas (Sherry) Whitham; former wife Mary Whitham; grandchildren Stacy (Chris) Wistock, Leslie (Andrew) Bexten, Kelli (Ian) Loomis, Ransom Whitham, William “Billy” Whitham, and Chelsie Mitchell; as well as great grandchildren, step grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many other extended family and friends.
