Arthur Hedgecock

Arthur Ray Hedgecock, 61, passed Saturday, October 17, 2009 at home. He was born April 4, 1948 to Challice and Mary Hedgecock in Des Moines, IA.

After high school he joined the US Army where he served his country in Germany and Vietnam.

He married Jeri (Sloan) on February 27, 1981. Art loved all sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He coached baseball for 15 years.

His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. They always put a smile on his face.

He leaves behind his wife, daughter, son, 4 grandchildren and many siblings, nieces and nephews. Art is preceded in death by his mother and father, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Memorial services will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
