Patricia Kim "Patty Cakes" Smith

Patricia Kim Smith, “Patty Cakes”, was born March 29, 2016 in Des Moines, Iowa to Marvin Anthony Smith and Zana Oakley. She passed away November 22, 2021.

Patricia loved being held, sang to, talked to and read to by her siblings. Her beautiful smile brightened everyone’s day up and she gave the best love. Patricia really loved when dad would put his cheek next to hers. Most of all she loved back massages to help with her everyday muscle cramps. Patricia especially loved going to school.

Patty Cakes will be lovingly remembered by her mom, Zana; dad, Marvin; grandpa, Marvin Bowie; grandma, Dragica Culjak; brothers, Marshawn Smith, Marquise Smith, Mannuelle Smith, Marvella Smith, Deantron Lewis, Lorenzo Oakley, Efron Okley, and Marvin Smith, Jr.; sisters, Elnora Smith, Destiny Smith, Mya Smith, Deyana Lewis, Sabya Oakley, Mariana Smith, and Patrice Smith; and many other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her grandma, Patricia Ann Smith and twin Kimberley Smith; and her great-grandma and great-grandpa.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021, also at Hamilton’s, and will be followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Patty Cakes.

She will be remembered as a warrior and an angel.
