Cindi Downen

Cindi Kay Downen, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston due to liver cancer.

Cindi was born March 20, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa to Floyd and Eleanor Downen. She enjoyed playing poker at Prairie Meadows and with family and friends. Cindi loved listening to music and watching crime documentaries. She retired from Service Master after over 20 years.

She is survived by her wife, Gina Coulter; son, Javan Downen; Gina’s daughter, Kari Imsirovic (Nihad); siblings, Kim (Dan) Muzicas, Tammy Downen, Deb (Herb) Daughenbaugh, and Jerry (Mamie) Parker; and many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Cindi was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Eleanor Downen; and her sisters, Tonia Downen and Pam Downen.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Cindi.

I just wanna say this to get off my chest but there’s not a day in my mind I don’t think about u grandma I miss you a lot and I wish I could see u again but ik I will when it’s time I love you grandma

I just wanted to say I'm sorry she is gone, she was a good friend. I hadn't seen her in a long time but I never stopped thinking of her and her family. My heart is crying. Much love and light to Gina and Jay.
