Sylvia Hutchinson, 83, passed away November 22, 2021 at Unity Point Des Moines Methodist Medical Center.

Sylvia was born September 6, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Ralph and Mildred Deuben. She was a teacher’s associate in the Des Moines Public School System for
many years. Sylvia also enjoyed teaching ceramics. She loved spending time at their lake house on Lost Island Lake. She enjoyed square dancing and going to garage sales.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Warren; children, Steven Jones, Paul (Mary) Jones and Ralph Hutchinson; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved step-mother, Virginia.

The family will greet friends Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
