John Anthony Host, 79, was born November 1, 1942 in Des Moines, the son of Wilmer and Mary (Dressic) Host. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Host; children, Deborah (Christopher) Borwig and Andrew Host; grandchildren, Beau and Baylee Borwig; sister, Theresa Cantrell; brother, Charles (Brenda) Host; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Host.

The family will greet friends from 11 – 1 pm Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with a prayer service to begin immediately after.

Masks are recommended.
