Rose Aldridge

Rose Carmilla (Garofalo) Aldridge, 77, passed away peacefully Friday, October 16th, 2009 at Mercy Hospice, following a brief battle with cancer.

Rose was born October 20th, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Sophia Garofalo. She worked in the restaurant business for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, antiquing and playing bingo.

Rose is survived by her sons Frank Aldridge and Dale Aldridge; daughters Pamela Howser, Paula Aldridge and Gina Aldridge; step-daughter Cherrie Wilkerson; sister Thomisina Margis; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Boyd Aldridge; sister, Katherine Fekes, and both of her parents.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday October 19th, 2009 evening at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St.. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20th, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Ave., with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s.
