Linette M. Stilwell
November 12, 2021
Linette Marie Stilwell was born in Des Moines, IA on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1963 to Dale and Wilda (Jones) Stilwell. She attended Moore Elementary, Meredith Middle School, and was a proud 1982 graduate of Hoover High School. She continued her education earning a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa. She began her teaching career in Houston, TX and continued her career with over 20 years of teaching for Des Moines Public Schools.
She had a lifelong love of animals and traveling. As a child, she loved the family vacations taken around the United States, especially if there were animals to see and feed. She loved all animals, with the exception of bats.
As a teacher, she took pride in her abilities to communicate with her students, in particular those whose first language was not English. She was proud of all her students’ success and kept in touch with many of them long after they were in her classroom.
She enjoyed being with her friends and family sharing a meal, playing cards, board games and traveling. She was an avid reader and had a large library with many genres of books. She had an affinity to fantasy and read the Harry Potter series many times over.
She will most significantly be remembered for her kind heart and her willingness to help anyone whom she felt was struggling.
She was greeted on the other side on the evening of Friday, November 12, 2021 by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, and several fur babies. She will be greatly missed by her fur babies, Pookie, Boomer and Kitty; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Katie Stilwell and Dan and Jill Stilwell; nieces and nephew-in-law, Holly and Romeo Denghel, and Marie Stilwell, bonus nephew and niece, Radu and Claudia Denghel; and many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Linette at Christopher’s Restaurant, 2816 Beaver Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50310 Saturday, November 20th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

I’m very sorry for this happened to you. I’ve been dreaming about you so I can help you clean and having dinner again. But now you’re in heaven with grandma and grandpa. So you can dream about me while In heaven so you can get resurrected by the lord Jesus Christ. I’ll keep dreaming you in my prayers.
Thanks

Bob, Dan, and your families: we were shocked and so deeply saddened to hear of Linette's death.
Our families were friends for many years and our parents stayed close for many, many more. We remember her as such a sweet, smart and fun little girl, and as the years went by knew she kept that great spirit and was a wonderful teacher, friend, daughter, and sister. I know she will be missed by so many, but know she is at peace now with her mom and dad,

to the family of Linette:
My memories of Linette center around her kind and caring manner of her students. The seemed to surround you with their love and appreciation. Of course they would, as you were there with your patience and help to each student. Bob, Dan, you raised a fine woman of care with a gentle smile for all.. time for her to rejoice with life given.

Linette, I miss you. I miss our teaching together at King Elementary, the wonderful times we had at college and the times afterward. My kids have fond memories of you also. I'm sorry you weren't able to get together with me this summer because of your health issues, but now you are with your parents and no longer in pain. My prayers go to you and your family.

I miss you so much! We never got to take that beach vacation and have an umbrella drink served to us on the beach. I know now you are in paradise with your mom and dad. I hope all your drinks have umbrellas and you are at peace. I love you sweet friend and miss you so much! I loved going to Chucks with you and out for dinners with you and your sweet mom. The years we spent teaching across the hall were the absolute best years! Thanks for your friendship! Love ya forever!
