Michael Delmege

Michael Joseph Peter Delmege, age 67, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, November 8, 2021 of complications of diabetes. He was born February 6, 1954 to Marianne (Renda) Pascuzzi and Richard Delmege. Mike was an administrator at Youth Homes of Mid America until retiring for health reasons. His hobbies included growing herbs and photography. He was a Dowling and Notre Dame Football fan. Mike’s family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie; sons, Michael (Sarah) Delmege of Des Moines, Jeremy (Whitney) Delmege of Sully; grandchildren, Adam, Tim (Kendra), Jason, Matthew, Sophia, and Francesca; siblings, Peter Delmege of Morristown, TN, Cindy (Terry) Tormey of Urbandale, Dave (Linda) Delmege of Pasadena, MD, and Steve Delmege of Johnston; and many other loving family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mark, and father-in-law, Charles Barnes.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. It is requested that masks be worn for the services.

I just learned that Mike has passed away. We worked together as officers on the Eagle Grove, IA Police Department and he served as a groomsman at my wedding.
A real wave of amazing memories is washing over me. RIP Buddy.
