David Shelledy

David Patrick Shelledy, age 59, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021.

David was born July 12, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa to John and Claudine (Wooldridge) Shelledy. He was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. He was self-employed as a painter. David was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Cyclones, Cubs, and Bears. He enjoyed playing golf and was the life of the party.

He is survived by his sons, Josh Shelledy (Tori Miner) and Jordan Shelledy; grandson, Judson Shelledy; mother, Claudine Allison; siblings, Doug (Wendy) Shelledy, Don (Chris) Dhabolt, and Dina (Bill) Gray; sister-in-law, Vori Dhabolt; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Jack and his step-mother, Judy; daughter, Katelyn Shelledy; and his brothers, Dennis and Ross Dhabolt.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our last memory of David was when he was cooking burgers for a family reunion at Claudine and Gene's club house. He was a huge help to his Mom and very kind to us.
