Brian Baker
November 05, 2021
Brian Baker, 29, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, peacefully at home. Brian was born June 8, 1992 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ed and Lorie Baker.
Brian’s family meant a lot to him and they made countless memories together. Some of his favorite memories were the annual Baker fishing trip to Canada. He may not have liked cleaning the fish, but he loved being out on the water. They also shared a love of Nebraska football.
Brian graduated from Saydel High School in 2010. He later returned to become a dedicated coach, a position he was honored to have and was passionate about. He then went to work for Wells Fargo where he found a new passion to help stop fraud. Brian took great pride in his job and the endless projects he created. His other passions were his art, Nebraska and Raiders football, animals, and his sword collection.
In 2016, Brian and Sarah reconnected and developed a beautiful love full of special memories with lots of laughter. They had a perfect wedding day on September 18, 2021.
Brian is survived by the love of his life, Sarah (Lindman) Baker; his parents, Ed and Lorie Baker; brothers, Dave (Kim) and Ryan (Shannon); the Lindman and Halstead families; nieces and a nephew; grandparents; and friends that became family. He was preceded in death by some influential men in his life, grandpa (grampy) Greiman, Apollo, and Coach Dan Fulwider.
Brian will be remembered for his artistic talents, loyalty to his loved ones and his love of animals, especially his furkids, Marshall and Weezy.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, also at the funeral home.
Brian passed away long before he was through enjoying life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Coaches vs. Cancer or to the family for a park bench at Lake Petocka in Bondurant, the park where he proposed to Sarah.

Dear Sarah, We've been holding you very close in our thoughts and prayers each day since we got the news. May the angels of those we've loved and lost hold you, and those around you, close each and every day and provide comfort and strength. With each passing day may there be one less tear replaced by one beautiful memory. Wishing we were closer so we could help and hold you. Lots of love, Uncle Ross and Aunt Janet
