Brian Baker
November 05, 2021
Brian Baker, 29, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, peacefully at home. Brian was born June 8, 1992 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ed and Lorie Baker.
Brian’s family meant a lot to him and they made countless memories together. Some of his favorite memories were the annual Baker fishing trip to Canada. He may not have liked cleaning the fish, but he loved being out on the water. They also shared a love of Nebraska football.
Brian graduated from Saydel High School in 2010. He later returned to become a dedicated coach, a position he was honored to have and was passionate about. He then went to work for Wells Fargo where he found a new passion to help stop fraud. Brian took great pride in his job and the endless projects he created. His other passions were his art, Nebraska and Raiders football, animals, and his sword collection.
In 2016, Brian and Sarah reconnected and developed a beautiful love full of special memories with lots of laughter. They had a perfect wedding day on September 18, 2021.
Brian is survived by the love of his life, Sarah (Lindman) Baker; his parents, Ed and Lorie Baker; brothers, Dave (Kim) and Ryan (Shannon); the Lindman and Halstead families; nieces and a nephew; grandparents; and friends that became family. He was preceded in death by some influential men in his life, grandpa (grampy) Greiman, Apollo, and Coach Dan Fulwider.
Brian will be remembered for his artistic talents, loyalty to his loved ones and his love of animals, especially his furkids, Marshall and Weezy.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, also at the funeral home.
Brian passed away long before he was through enjoying life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Coaches vs. Cancer or to the family for a park bench at Lake Petocka in Bondurant, the park where he proposed to Sarah.

Brian- It took me a while to write something because I wasnt sure what to say. You went from being my mentee to an inspiration. Easily the best SME I ever trained. The moment you stepped out of training at Wells Fargo I knew you were destined to do great things. You were really someone special who saw the good in everyone. To this day you inspire me to be a better person and to see the good in everyone around me. Thank you for touching so many lives.

I am really just so shock to hear the news. I literally am just returning to work after 6 months off and Brian was the first co worker I thought of this morning. I knew if I needed any help with anything he was my go to. He was so helpful, resourceful and kind. He is truly going to be missed. Praying for his wife, family and friends.

Brian had so many great qualities, but what stood out the most was how he always had time for everyone. No matter how busy he was, he put everyone else's needs above his own and genuinely cared about every person he knew. In all the time I worked with him, I never had a conversation with Brian that didn't leave me feeling better or more knowledgeable. I consider myself lucky to have had such an inspiration in my life. My deepest condolences to Sarah, Brian's family, and everyone who had the privilege of calling him a friend.

I met Brian when I started working with him at Wells, and he was one of the most positive and genuinely helpful people I have ever met. He always had the answer to any question, he would always explain a problem in detail if you were unfamiliar with it, and he never once made someone feel bad for asking or not understanding a situation. He was always quick to crack jokes, and made my time working with him a joy. In the short time I have known him I can say that he made the world a better place, and everyone I know who interacted with him felt better after doing so. He was a really good guy and I am so sorry for the loss.

Brian was a great man with a lot of positivity to share. The world is at a loss and he will be missed, but the blessing of knowing him will stay in the hearts of so many people. It was an honor to have the opportunity to work with him.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Brian, yet miles away, for the last couple of years. I can confidently say that Brian was not only a great teammate but an incredible person a true example of working with integrity. I dont believe my saying that Brian went above and beyond even gives his work justice but thats what he did in everything. My thoughts are with Sarah as well as Brians family and friends. He was a great person and will be sorely missed.

Simply put - I would not be where I am today in my career if it weren't for Brian. From day one as a new teammate, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. No question was ever a dumb question - and he displayed outstanding patience with me as I learned the ropes. Brian always led with humility. He was my biggest mentor at Wells Fargo and I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that he would go on to accomplish great things. The news is devastating, but I am at ease knowing that he will be remembered for having similar impacts on so many other lives. He will be sorely missed. To Sarah and Brian's family, friends and colleagues - I am so sorry for your loss and wish you all the best as you navigate these trying times ahead. Take care.

I was in training in this department back in March 2021. I was so nervous and Brian came along with his warm heart and great personality. After his training with us he continued to provide support with no hesitation. I am so...so sorry for your loss. Brian was a beautiful soul. I pray you all find peace during this difficult time. And may God keep you close during your time of mourning.

I worked with Brian - and just wanted to share with those that loved him that he was so well- liked and respected by so many of us. He was brilliantly smart, helpful, diligent, and just the type of person people wanted to be around and work with. Even working a half dozen states away from Brian, he made an impression on me just like so many other people. To those that care to know, he was on his way to big things at his work - and was a friend to all.

Worked with Brian at Wells Fargo we started around the same time, He treated everyone with respect and dignity and went above and beyond to help anyone who had a question. A prime example of a upstanding gentleman. Condolences to his loved ones always remember.
