Raymond Carl Pinegar, Sr.
of Des Moines, Iowa
Raymond Pinegar, Sr., age 70, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 surrounded by his family. Raymond was born the son of Joe and Viola Pinegar on July 20, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa.
He attended Southeast Polk High School and went on to Barber College. Raymond married Sharon on February 15, 1969 in Des Moines, and to this union were born two children, Raymond and Valeria. Raymond enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed on the USS Barry (DD-933). Upon his return, he attended Architecture College and later worked for Freeman Decorating as operations manager and retired from there in 2013. Raymond enjoyed woodworking, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, and was an avid reader. He will be remembered as a simple man with good morals and will be greatly missed.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Pinegar; son, Raymond (Jill) Pinegar, Jr.; daughter, Valeria (Scott) Pallwitz; grandchildren, Brad (Georgia) Pinegar, Samantha Pallwitz, and Logan Pallwitz; great-grandchildren, Maleah and Asher; and sister, Nancy (Ron) Aasheim.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Steve, Joey, and Tim Pinegar.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021, with a Eulogy to be read at 5:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

RAY I cant believe you have left us you were a awesome boss and friend I remember when my parents Jerry and sheila first started Freeman's you were a driver longer hair and cowboy boots with cuts in the cuffs of your Jean's if they weren't bell bottoms you will be greatly miss I pray for you family miss you always the Wyckoffs RIP
