Ruby Lee Sumpter

Ruby Lee Sumpter, 70, passed away at home on November 2, 2021. Per her request, no services are planned. The family does plan to have a private celebration of life at a later date.

Ruby was born November 10, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Rufus and Matilda Middlebrook. She taught preschool and elementary school for 30 years before retiring and relocating to Des Moines to be closer to her family. Ruby loved crafting, watching scary movies and most of all, loved spending time with her grandkids.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Julion (Kristin) Sumpter; and grandchildren, Tylor and Makenna. Ruby was preceded in death by her son, Bernell Sumpter.
