Bruce Lee Abraham
Of Des Moines, Iowa
Bruce Abraham passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 70. He was born the son of Melvin and Mabel (Spiering) Abraham on September 15, 1951 in Glencoe, Minnesota.
At 6 months of age, his family moved to Paramount, California, where he resided for 22 years. He later moved to Des Moines, which has remained his home. Over the years, he worked at Mercy, Des Moines General & Iowa Methodist as Supervisor in inventory control, supply distribution, and sterile processing. Bruce married Jill in 1982 and the two were blessed with two children, Luke & Erin.
Bruce’s passion for playing pool began when he was younger and was reignited later in life. Through local leagues and pool halls, he returned to the sport. The friends he met there became a second family to him, and his love for them and the game was always evident.
Bruce was always one to go with the flow, bringing humor and joy to any situation. Whether it be cracking jokes, whacking golf balls against trees, or falling off boats while fishing…his humorous presence always shone through. His ability to fix anything with duct tape and c-clamps will be sorely missed around the house. Bruce was ready to help in any event, and never asked for anything in return. He could be counted on as a friend, a father, and a husband. Bruce was loved, still is loved, and will be missed by all. Rest in peace.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 39 years, Jill Abraham; son, Luke (Rachel) Abraham; daughter, Erin Abraham; grandchildren, Ethan, Fox, Ash, and Winter; brother, Cliff (Chris) Abraham and their children, Eric (Kris) Abraham and Karen (Dan) Lydecker; and other loving relatives and many special friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Mark Abraham and Doug Abraham.
Family will greet friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society in memory of Bruce.

Was sorry to hear of his passing. I knew him slightly in CA. Mostly knew, grew up with, his brother Doug. Also did not know of Dougs passing either since we lost touch after the family moved from Paramount. I think of this family and have missed the past friendship with Doug. We met in1st grade. We were practically inseparable until after HS when we kinda drifted apart. But never forgot this great family. Used to buy 3cent popsicles at the dairy their mom worked at. Am so sorry to all the family who have had much loss.
