Michelle Marie Mix Porcello, 67, died unexpectedly at Iowa Methodist Hospital on October 28, 2021. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Sheli was born on June 20, 1954 in St. Paul, MN to Eileen (Marsh) and Donald Mix. She graduated from Harding High School and worked primarily in the retail field for most of her career; most recently for Kohl’s. Sheli had a love of pansies and working in her gardens. She delighted in designing a koi pond with her son to complete the beauty of her backyard.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tom Porcello; her children, Lisa (Chad) Knapp and Michael Porcello; grandchildren, Evelyn and Aaron Knapp; her siblings, Barbara (David) Whittemore and Robert (Catherine) Mix; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sheli was preceded in death by her parents and her infant grandson, Joey Knapp.

Tom, Lisa and family, and Michael,
My sincere sympathy goes out to you for the passing of Sheli. She became my very good friend when we worked together at Kohl's for all those years! We always celebrated our birthdays together with a margarita, usually at Applebee's. I have grown pansies every spring since she introduced them to me and will continue to do that in her memory. I was stocked to see Sheli's notice of her passing. I always liked her and her fun personality when we were all growing up together.
